What is (Deutsch) German?

In the newest issue of Stern magazine there is an artikel about Germany and how the world is enjoying a World Cup with (our guest and Germans alike) friends - something they obviously (according to Stern magazine) didn't expect! Well the weather has been hotter than in southern Italy and most of the favored nations have advanced to the next win-take-all final stages and expect for a few (the expected Englisch and German hooligans) everything has been very peaceful and (probably) financially successful.
Obviously those who traveled furthest have the money (Japan, Korea don't street brawl anyway) and don't want to spend the World Cup in a Germany cell so they party, party but behave and enjoy! If we're lucky and the weather holds, the beer flows and the German team keeps winning we might just see this soccer party peacefully ending - something to tell the grand children about Tor! Tor! Tor!
Last night was Johannisfeuer (Midsummer night celebration) in
Bamberg and wie sat with three Ukranien grandmothers

and had an ice cream cone at our italien ice cream parlor,

maybe that's a little answer to what is (Deutsch) German!

...and in the moun (Berg) tains!

But that wasn't all on that Sunday. After a ride through the Fränkischer Schweiz on our trusty Honda NTV 650 (info for Bike freaks) we gathered our courage and left for the Erlangen Bergkirchweih. Naturally we've added few pictures to give you an idea what it's all about. Eat your heart out Jenny!

Sunny Sunday on the Farm!

"Stop! Stop!" says the wife, the Bike is in the curve and you wonder why? "Isn't that sweet, isn't that lovely? Simonne will love this!" Why did we stop? What is so lovely? Ahh the cute little calves! Fresh veal on the hoof - thinks Dad! The cat doesn't care, but they really are cute, aren't they?Samstag, Mai 20, 2006
Rainy May, may it rain?
Well let's see... it's early Saturday evening, as you can see it's raining cat's (Noxema) and dogs (which we don't have) that's what Blogs are good for. For the time between...Between working (cutting wood, digging a pond, pouring concrete, etc.) and relaxing (watching TV, eating, watching more TV, sleeping on the couch, watching even more TV, etc) Blogs are for catching up on what went on during week (if I only could remember) and saying hello to Jennifer in NC and Simonne and Jan somewhere in India (?) on their way to somewhere else in Asia. Now I could do that with an email or a phone call. After all even though they're thousands of miles away you can reach them through one electronic gizmo (boy is that a grandpa word if I ever heard one!) or another! That's the way you do it.
And now you Blog-it! Not only can you reach out to your children where ever they are but (I would never do it) you can reach out to anyone with a computer and an Internet account and let them know all kinds of privat things about yourself that you wouldn't even tell your (are you still talking with them?) neighbors!
I thought I'd just say that and see if anyone (not my kids - they know better) cares to comment!

Say good bye Germany, say hello World!
Saturday, Jan and Simonne arrived safe and sound in Bombay on their first leg of their 14 month world journey - to celebrate the departure we had dinner at the Michelsberg italian resturant on Thursday. All dressed up don't we look good? (that's Phillip our son, Jan is behind the camera - if you want to see him visit their Blog at: jarusibo.blogspot.com)Our oldest daughter, Jennifer is now in North Carolina. If you're interested in Biology or want to practice your German then go to: j-bo-alleininnc.blogspot.com - that's all for now folks!
Jolly green Giant, uhm, uhm, good!
The rest of the garden is coming along - the tomatoes and pickels are in peas and limas are sprouting and the salad is just fine in the green house. The lilac and the apple trees are in full bloom - if the weather holds we'll have fresh pressed apple juice again this year. Now it's watering and keeping the weeds down until it's time to harvest - jolly green giant uhm, uhm, good!Mother's day Pond is (almost) finished
Sunday morning, what do you do? Cut your hair? Go to Church? Edit your Blog? Well let's do that, okay?Yesterday we finally put the little pond in for Mrs. B. This is suppose to be her Mother's day gift. Phillip and I spent all Saturday digging and leveling then finally came the fish and a couple of plants. Well the picture is not very dramatic and we haven't landscaped, but I think you get the idea what it could look like - at least we hope so!
